Mango Medical has been my Primary Care Provider for 5 years. I usually see Amy Duerler, APRN, but have seen Josh, APRN, and Dr. Tim Duerler as well. I have never been disappointed in my care and feel that their clinical skills are top notch. I am myself an ICU RN and do not tolerate anything but the best, most current, medical care and treatment. Their front office staff is always courteous, helpful, and professional. I rarely wait more than a few minutes before being seen, and the waiting room is clean and cheerful. I would highly recommend Mango Medical to anyone who desires an excellent Primary Care Provider!
I am new to the island. I had gone to urgent care and I needed a Primary Care Dr. immediately. I was able to see them the next day. Clean, quick, very personable and kind. I would reccomend them anytime! I saw Amy Drueler.
My husband and I have been going to Mango Medical since we moved to the Island 6 Years ago. We live in Kona, and for us it is absolutely worth the drive. We see Dr. Timothy Durler and he is always pleasant, thorough, informative, and we never feel rushed. I was sick a couple years ago when I was on the mainland, and Dr. Duerler made a Facetime call to me, and was able to call in an rx to my local CVS. This is the best Island Doctor we have!
This was the poorest treatment I've had - . I was referred to Mango for acupuncture to treat arthritis, since they take insurance. On my first visit with Dr. Russ Parker, he spent half an hour with me, 15 minutes examining my leg, and 15 minutes of acupuncture. I was a bit disappointed at how short the treatment was, but he said that's how it's done on the first visit. On my second visit, I thought he was going to do some manipulation of my leg and then do more acupuncture. He made 1 pass down the top of my leg from hip to knee, and one on the back side; this took no more than 2 minutes max. Then he left - and did no acupuncture. The cost? $230, and the bill falsely claimed he did "manipulative treatment to 5-6 body regions." I went to a private acupuncturist after this poor treatment, and paid $75 for an hour of acupuncture, and got a thorough diagnosis and also exercises I could do at home, all of which have helped. My co-pay at Mango would have been $36, so for twice that, I got 30x more service! I called Mango's Director, Dr. Duerler, to let him know this visit should not have been billed, but he refused to cancel or reduce the bill. My concern is not my money, it is our tax dollars being wasted! I am considering a report to Medicare about possible fraud.
They never answer the phone! If you leave a message they never call you back! This Dr's office is on Hawaii time so if you need more than a check up good luck!
