Wonderful weekend stay. The rooms were well maintained and beautiful, the staff was friendly and attentitive, the beach was clean and had many wild sea turtles. A/C was great, balcony view was amazing, bed was incredibly comfortable.
The shopping center down the road is very high end but the market place store was surprisingly cheap with great selections!
The shower area has slight mildew, but the bathrooms in general were fabulous. Keep in mind their are no fans for when someone makes a stinky.
Stayed on the 5th floor in an Ocean View room and was very happy. Clean and comfortable room with some amenities like AC. Dined at Canoe House restaurant and the service was amazing. Incredible service throughout property. Shuttle service is available to anywhere on the large property such as the shopping center with a grocery.
We ate at the outside bar/restaurant on a sunny day. The view was excellent! It's a nice place to see the ocean, and have a casual lunch. The food was nothing to write home about, but the view, smiling staff, and great tropical drinks made up for it. It's not bad to stop in, but I wouldn't plan to head here - there are probably better food choices around.
Very nice place on the Big Island. It seems like it was built around old-fashioned full bellhop and maitre-d' service and recently relaxed a little to allow a more casual experience. Great breakfast buffet, great views, everything is well-kept and tidy, staff is really friendly. Pretty good snorkeling just off the beach, handy little shopping area with a grocery store so you can get a picnic together while exploring the island. Much less hustle-bustle than the Queen's Marketplace down the way.
It broke my heart a little to see the baby sea turtles in shallow, warm fish ponds with no shade or sea grass. However the front desk mentioned that a marine biologist comes by to feed them and they are released every year. I still felt bad every time I walked past. The only reason the review went down to 4 stars is because I'm an animal sympathizer.
Fantastic resort with awesome staff. Everyone makes you feel welcome. Very accommodating. If your flight leaves late they will give you a late check-out. If your flight leaves REALLY late like ours, after you check-out you can spend the rest of the day at the resort, and when you're ready to go they'll give you a "hospitality room" (a full hotel room) to shower and change in, free of charge.
