We have ridden horses on the island many times through various ranches and our recent ride with Na'alapa Stables in Kohala was our favorite of all time. It has the best combination of horse responsiveness, terrain, views, price, ride length, and guides (Jackie and another gal). On our most recent trip to the island we also rode at Paniolo Stables down the street and had a frustrating experience with horse responsiveness and the views were similar and good, but not as good. Na'alapa Stables also has a Waipio Valley ride we've been on a couple of times which is a great way to see one of the most beautiful locations on the island, but it's pretty much a nose to tail trail ride because you have to stay on a road. It's good, but a different kind of ride. Bottom line, Na'alapa Stables is our go-to place for riding on the island.
