Amazing whale watching from local Captain Steve. His 34' sailboat makes your trip environmentally friendly. Really enjoyed the 6 person max cruise. Feels like you are on a private boat, with an insightful guide. I personally don't like large commercial cruises.
Capt Steve and his crew Sarah, kept us entertained the whole time. Make sure you ask about his time spent as a boat wrangler on the movie Waterworld.
Going out on a sailboat to whale watch... It doesn't get much better than that! Captain Steve was a great captain & guide. You can tell how much he loves what he does, the whales & wants to share what he cares about. Highly recommend!
We did a private charter for a sunset sail and loved it! Steve was laid back yet extremely knowledgeable on the Islands, sailing and more. Highly recommend!
Riva is a very well cared for 34 ft boat, with a big stern pulpit bench that easily fits 3 adults. Lots of room and cushions in the cockpit as well.
4 of us did the whale watching/ sunset tour just after Christmas 2015. We had a whale breach just outside the breakwater! We continued spotting blows and peduncle throws from 2 different pods. It is the most whales I have ever seen. We were blessed to be in the right spot at the right time to observe these magnificent creatures!
Captain Steve is the best! He is very laid back, and knows a ton of stuff about whales. We got to see three different whales on our trip - and he was smart enough to sail circles around them so we could sit and watch for almost an hour straight. As soon as other boats came they scared them off so Cpt. Steve just went and found another one.
