This happened Sunday, at about 5:30PM at Foodland Farms Mauna Lani. Needless to say, I will not be shopping at Foodland anymore.
OK, I understand equipment breaks, and this was a Sunday and they probably had a long day as well, but a simple explanation or apology would have sufficed.
Staff is quite friendly.
A good selection of fruits, vegetables, prepared foods. Try the spam masubi... delicious.

Decent resort grocery store. A lot of items in a relatively small footprint. Some resort pricing some mainland pricing and the occasional "wow, what a deal" pricing. Very good poke pricing.
I was waiting patiently in line in crowded checkout line. When the person in front of me was finally finished, cashier abruptly plopped down the "This aisle closed" sign and walked away. No explanation or reason, forcing me to stand in the back of the next line for a long wait all over again.
Two tips: give your phone number to the Cashier to to get Maikai discounts and the sandwiches in the deli counter are a better deal than those in the cases around the corner.
When it finally got to my turn again at the cashier, I complained about the incident, and the cashier who had closed her lane, was now bagging groceries instead, said "Oh, the cash register broke".
Very friendly staff. Accepts Android pay.
Anyway, I made no more fuss and just paid and left. But I did hear them break out in laughter behind me as I left. I hope I made their day.
Convenient stop to gather up snacks and supplies before the days excursion.
