Parking $5/vehicle. Residents free- just show HI driver's license @ the gate. Gate closes @ 7pm. There is a restroom. There are shaded (huge shade trees very petty) picnic tables, life guard on duty, white sandy beach, beautiful blue turquoise colored water, it's clean, great beach for walking, beautiful place to watch the sunset. The walk back up to the parking lot is a tad exerting after hours on the beach.

We got totally fried since there is no protection from sun or wind here, but the snorkeling was awesome. I was so excited to get into the water and the variety of fish and turtles did not disappoint. Water got pretty choppy in the late afternoon, this beach is wide enough not to have a lot of sheltered areas.

Great for snorkeling in the summer months. The water is generally very calm in July. Go to the rocks at either end. We saw lots of fish and a good size sea turtle a couple days ago.

The winter months are better suited for swimming and surfing. When I came in March the water was too turbulent to venture near the rocks and visibility was low, but the waves were a lot of fun. If you venture into the waves, aim your body at a diagonal with the beach. That allows you to roll rather than being sent head first to the bottom. I learned the hard way before a local enlightened me.

It is indeed awesome as you may have been told elsewhere. I'm not sure if it's world's top 10 (I haven't been to that many to judge...) but it sure is my top 10. Super soft and fine golden sands, wide beach, shallow water that goes out like 30-40 meters before the water is to my neck, clean without seaweeds growing near the beach. Thoroughly enjoyable!

This is a great beach, flush toilets, showers, life guards, fine sand, large area. Shady areas with many tables & shelters. It does not get much better at a sandy beach.
