Good choice if you only have an hour or two (short hike to parking, etc.).
Facilities are clean and we'll maintained. There are also lots of BBQ/grill spots.
Camped out here 3 nights in early November 2017 and had a great time. The showers are ample and there are plenty of BBQ grills around but you need to supply your own grate. Seemed to be safe even though occasionally you'll see some sketchy folks around. If camping watch out for the caterpillar army that comes out during the night. I'd definitely camp here again. One negative is that there are no fire rings, no campfires.
While we were there, we saw several whales on the horizon. What an unexpected bonus!
Great park! Nice sandy beach. Beware of the sea urchins if you cross the rocks in the water. Had to dig some spines out of my hand after snorkeling. Very nice changing rooms with fresh water showers.
Surprisingly good place. Nearby campers bring a low key vibe to the beach making it completely different than the other (more famous) beaches nearby.
There is a lifeguard shack... But there wasn't one on duty.

Good sand, clean, decent amenities and easy/safe water entry. Nice to have lots of free paved parking, many spots with shade.
Really great family beach... Low key. Mix of locals and tourists, so you know is a good spot to hang out. Also a lot of campers either in tents or surf / camper vans. Good vibes. We got there in the morning and the beach was nearly empty!
